For several years I was stuck in bed during treatment for brain injuries and the long recovery afterwards. Dentistry was the last thing on my mind or in my budget,... read more and now that I'm getting back on my feet there's a lot I need to catch up on, including a root canal that needed done after a filling cracked. After trying several dentists and not feeling like I clicked with them, I discovered biomimetic dentistry and decided to try 512 Smiles because I feel that the more natural something is the better, most of the time. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable and welcomed, which is unusual for me given the social anxiety I have after the brain injuries and the weirdo it turns me into. The entire staff is friendly and personable while also being highly professional and knowledgeable. I have a couple of small things I can't have done normally at dentists because of my health issues, and everyone, including Dr. Priya, was so careful to make sure I was doing well every step of the way. Also, and this is a big one for me, Dr. Priya is fabulous at explaining things, even using visual aids and calling herself a nerd, and being a nerd myself who thinks the more info the better, I loved it. She recommended a surgeon for the root canal who did a wonderful job, and when I went back yesterday for the crown, I had a fabulous experience with Dr. Priya again. Today it feels like nothing ever happened, which means everyone did their jobs perfectly. I live about 35 miles south of Austin, so it's a bit of a hike all the way up to North Austin, but it is so worth it. I'm no longer dreading the further work I need done and know it will all be taken care of just as well. Thank you all so much!

I have been to a... read more number of dental practices and 512 Smiles is by far the best. It was very important to me to find a biomimetic dental practice. If you don't know what that is you should look it up. With two broken teeth it was very important that I find someone that wanted to take a conservative approach and save my teeth to the greatest extent possible. Dr. Priya Meghpara and I spoke the same language. We were totally in sync. Dr. Priya Meghpara was very thorough and answered all of my questions. We came up with a stepwise approach that focused on conservative treatment and not just doing a root canal and a crown which you can get almost anywhere. Just to be clear I may need a root canal for one of the two broken teeth but Dr. Priya Meghpara is it going to do all that she can, if possible, to avoid that. That's all a reasonable person could ask. That said the only downside was the cost. 512 Smiles is not in the Cigna and work. Cigna told me that most biomimetic practices are not in their network. The bottom line is the best care comes with a cost. I also wanted to mention how impressed I was with their use of technology. X-rays were displayed on a large screen TV. Contrast staining was used to identify decay. Pictures were taken and also displayed on the large screen TV. In addition, many practices do not have the ability to make crowns and overlays in the office. That means you have to get a temporary crown and then come back to be fitted for the final crown which some practices send out to have made. 512 Smiles is a one stop shop. They can make the crown and an overlay in the office avoiding the extra visit.
